Isabel Rottiers specialised in architectural and interior photography, yet it is not so much this expertise that makes her work special. It goes without saying that she has a subtle sense of space, depth and design, but it is rather this psychological undertone that makes her work so fascinating.
In the series of portraits she made for the solo exhibition “eye contact“, this aspect was strikingly highlighted. But that same melancholy atmosphere is also sensitively present in numerous vistas, landscapes and detail photographs. Vulnerability and strength are the characteristics she is whispered about and in a soothing, almost melodic tone she filters and reflects everyday reality and the abundance of stimuli.
